About NIOS 10th 2025
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), formerly National Open School, is an autonomous organization controlled and administered by the Indian Government. The board holds the NIOS Class 10th exam twice yearly, in March-April and October/November. The NIOS Class 10 exams 2025 for both cycles will be conducted in a single shift from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. The examinations are conducted at various exam centers in India and Overseas. The NIOS class 10 examinations are conducted for Block I in April and for Block II in October.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) released the
NIOS 10th date sheet 2025
for the October session on September 19, 2025. The theory exams will be conducted from October 14 to November 18, 2025. The practical exams are being held from September 12 to 27, 2025. NIOS 10th Registration 2025
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has released the schedule for the Class 10 registration process and payment of examination fees for the October/November 2025 public exams. Students can visit the NIOS 10th application form page for detailed information. Learners enrolled under Stream I, Block I, and those eligible to appear before the Oct-Nov 2025 exams could register from November 21 to December 20, 2025, without any late fee. Registration with a late fee of ₹100 per subject was available from December 21 to December 31, 2025. Learners could also register between January 1 and January 10, 2026, with a consolidated late fee of ₹1500 per student. NIOS Class 10 admissions are held twice a year – Block I (April session) and Block II (October session). The schedule generally remains the same every year. For 2025, NIOS Class 10 admissions for Block I opened on March 16, 2025, and closed on September 15, 2025. The Block II admission cycle started on September 16, 2025, and will continue until March 15, 2026.

NIOS 10th Exam Pattern
The NIOS Class 10 exam consists of subjects from Group A and Group B. The duration of each exam is three hours. For subjects that include practicals, the time allotted is 2.5 hours for theory and 3 hours for practicals. Each subject carries a maximum of 100 marks. Students are advised to review the complete NIOS 10th exam pattern to gain a clear understanding of the 2025 examinations. To qualify, a learner must pass a minimum of five subjects, which should include one or a maximum of two languages from Group A, along with three or four subjects from Group B. In addition, learners have the option of choosing up to two extra subjects, making it possible to appear for a maximum of seven subjects at the secondary level.

NIOS 10th Syllabus 2025
Students appearing for the upcoming NIOS 10th exam must go through the latest syllabus to be aware of the marking scheme, typologies of the questions, and important topics. The NIOS 10th syllabus is the same for both public and on-demand exams. The NIOS 10th syllabus includes the subjects from 2 different groups - Group A and Group B. In Group A, the syllabus consists of language-based issues. At the same time, in Group B, there are other core subjects such as Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, and so on. Students are advised to complete the syllabus two months before the commencement of the exam. After completing the syllabus, students must practice the sample and the previous year's question papers.
NIOS 10th Passing Criteria 2025
Students will have to score at least 33% marks to pass the NIOS 10th examinations 2025. The students need to score good marks in both theory and practicals separately to get an aggregate passing score.
NIOS 10th Question Papers 2025
For every academic session, NIOS releases sample papers and previous year's question papers for the students appearing for the board examinations so that they get an understanding of the typologies and difficulty level of questions asked. The hall ticket will be available on the official website – sdmis.nios.ac.in/search/hall-ticket. Students can download their NIOS 10th theory exam hall ticket 2025 from the website and must carry it to the examination centre on all exam days.
