The CEED 2026 exam will be conducted as a Computer-based test for Part A and as an Offline exam for Part B. 41 questions will be asked from Part A and 5 questions will be asked from Part B. CEED Exam Pattern 2026

The CEED exam pattern 2026 is created by IIT Bombay to help candidates understand the pattern of the final exam. Candidates can find the official exam pattern in Section 1.1 of the information brochure of CEED. As per the exam pattern, the entrance exam will include two parts - A and B. Part A will take place online, while Part B will be held offline. The former will be for 1 hour duration and the latter for 2 hours duration. 

The first part will have NAT, MCQ, and MSQ-type questions, and the second part will comprise drawing questions. CEED Exam Pattern 2026 for Part B

Part B of the CEED 2026 exam comprises five questions that assess the candidate's design, drawing, and writing skills. In this section, questions will be presented on a computer screen, and candidates are required to solve them in an answer booklet provided by the invigilator. To indicate that they have answered a question, candidates must tick the corresponding box on the computer screen. The answer booklets for Part B will be collected after the examination.

CEED Exam Pattern 2026: Important Notes

Provided below are the important notes for CEED 2026:

  • All questions of CEED Part A and Part B will be shown on a computer. 
  • Candidates will have to type the answers for Part-A on the computer. The answers for CEED Part B will have to be written in the answer booklet provided by the invigilator.
  • To answer NAT questions asked in CEED Part A, candidates need to use a virtual keyboard. No choices for correct answers will be shown in this section.
  • Each MCQ contains a total of four choices, out of which only one answer is correct.
  • Each MSQ contains a total of four choices, out of which one or more answers will be correct.
  • For Part A rough work scribble pads will be provided by invigilators. The pads have to be returned after the exam is completed.
  • Each question in Part B of CEED is compulsory.
  • In Part B of CEED, aspirants are allowed to use stationary such as crayons, coloured pencils and sketch pens unless otherwise specified in a question.

Is there a negative marking for incorrect answers in CEED 2026?

In the CEED 2026 exam, the marking scheme differs between Part A and Part B. Part A includes negative marking, so incorrect answers can impact your score. On the contrary, Part B does not apply any negative marking, allowing you to attempt it without a negative marking for wrong answers.
