About GSEB SSC 2026
Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) conducts examinations for Class 10 every year in March. The examinations are conducted offline at the respective schools. Approximately 10 lakh students turn up each year to appear for the GSEB SSC exams. In addition to conducting board exams, the board's primary duties (established under "The Gujarat Secondary Education Act 1972") include managing secondary and higher secondary schools, creating syllabi, and suggesting textbooks for use in the classrooms. The board is also in charge of duties like recognizing new schools, assessing performance, and inspecting schools that are affiliated with it. The GSEB also oversees the administration of the GUJCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test). According to information from the RTE (Right to Education), the GSEB is connected to around 9,500 public and private schools.
