TS EDCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The TS EDCET eligibility is informed by the TGCHE on the official website, along with the notification for the application form. The eligibility criteria details can be accessed from the Information Booklet on edcet.tsche.ac.in. The applicants must review the criteria before applying for TS EDCET. 

The entrance exam is conducted to grant admission to the B.Ed course to the TS EDCET participating colleges. Graduates and Postgraduates from an approved institution/ college/ university with the specified percentage of marks are qualified to send their TS EDCET applications. TS EDCET 2026 Educational Qualifications

Candidates who meet the following conditions will be eligible to take the TS EDCET 2026.

  • The candidates must be of Indian origin.
  • Candidates must meet the "Local" / "Non-Local" status requirements outlined in the Telangana Educational Institutions Order 1974.
  • Candidates must have passed or appeared in any Bachelor's Degree, such as BA, B.Com, BSc, B.Sc (Home Science), BBA, BCA, BBM, BA (Oriental Languages), or Master's Degree, with at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • Applicants must have graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Technology or Bachelor of Engineering and achieved a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks.
  • Candidates from the reserved categories, including SC / ST / BC and other reserved categories, must have obtained 40 per cent in the qualifying examination.
  • At the time of Admission Counselling, candidates should be asked to present a marks memo and a pass certificate.
  • Candidates with MBBS / BSC (AG), B.Pharm or BVSC or BHMT and other professional and job-oriented degrees, such as LL.B, are not eligible for admission to the B.Ed course.

Candidates must be at least 19 years old on July 1st of the year in which the TS EDCET notification is published. There will be no upper age limit.

Oriental Languages

TS EDCET 2026 Qualifying Marks

Please find the criteria for TS EDCET 2026 qualifying marks - 

  • The minimum qualifying marks in the entrance test for all candidates (excluding SC / ST) should be 25% of the total marks (equal to 38 marks). 

  • However, there would be no minimum qualifying scores for candidates from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes to be ranked.

  • To claim a seat under the NCC / Sports and Games / Physically Handicapped / Children of Armed Forces quota, applicants from SC/ST communities must obtain a minimum qualifying mark of 25% (equivalent to 38 marks) in TS EDCET.

TS EDCET 2026 Reservation Criteria

We have highlighted the important reservation conditions of TS EDCET 2026: 

  • Local candidates will be admitted to 85% of seats in each process, with 15% remaining unreserved.

  • To be considered a local candidate for admission, one must have attended an Educational Institution in the local region for a minimum of four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which one appears.

  • Local candidates who have lived in the state for ten years or more, excluding their studies elsewhere, are eligible for the remaining 15% of unreserved seats.

  • Candidates whose parents work for the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, etc, within the State shall be considered for the 15% unreserved seats.

  • If a local candidate is not available to fill a seat reserved or designated for a local candidate, the seat shall be filled as if unreserved.

TS EDCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria General Instructions

Please note the below mentioned general instructions for TS EDCET 2026 eligibility criteria -

  • Candidates are not required to submit Xerox copies of any certificates with their applications. 

  • They must, however, produce original certificates or Xerox copies if requested.

  • At the time of admission, the information provided in the application will be validated with original documents.

  • False information leads to cancellation of admission at any moment.

  • The mere presence at the Entrance Test does not entitle the candidate to admission to the B.Ed Course.

  • Only online applications will be accepted.

  • The candidate must click the submit button after filling out all of the fields on the online application.

  • Otherwise, no registration number will be generated, and the application will be rejected.

  • On the day of the examination, candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination venue after the exam has begun.
