The detailed XGMT exam analysis 2026 will be available after the examination has been conducted on January 25, 2026. The XGMT 2026 syllabus consists of four main sections: Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation (DI), Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR), and Emotional Quotient and General Awareness (EQGA). XGMT 2023 difficulty level ranged from moderate to difficult. Notably, both slots had different levels of difficulty. Slot 2 was more difficult than slot 1, even though the questions were mostly different. The verbal ability section in both slots had most of the questions from one-word substitution, which gave candidates an opportunity to score well. However, Logical Reasoning was quite challenging.
Candidates who attempted the exam in Slot 1 had luck on their side, as the quantitative section was easier than expected. Most of the questions were from general mathematics which required less to no calculation. However, for Slot 2 candidates, the exam was unpredictable, as the questions and level of difficulty were completely different. The quantitative ability section had lengthy and difficult questions, which were time-consuming. However, other sections were of easy to moderate difficulty.

The Quantitative Ability (Quant) section was considered the toughest by the XGMT 2026 paper analysis. It was termed moderate to difficult, at par with CAT 2017-2019 papers. It needed only 6-7 correct answers to clear the sectional cutoff, but 50% accuracy was required to get a good score of 30+ out of 60, which clearly showed that the section was challenging.
The XGMT 2026 question paper for Slot 1 and the XGMT 2026 question paper for Slot 2 were different. Despite that, the overall exam pattern and section distribution were identical, though the questions in the sections differed between the slots. This is a standard procedure for the overall slot-wise exams to ensure fairness and prevent tampering with the question paper.
A good attempt in XGMT 2026 is considered to be 66 questions or above. Good attempts in an exam are decided based on factors like the difficulty level of the paper, the number of candidates who appeared, and the average number of attempts made.
CAT, XAT are national-level management entrance exams while XGMT is a university-level entrance exam for management programmes at XIM Bhubaneswar. Hence, the difficulty level of the exam is lower than XAT or other national and state-level examinations.
XGMT 2026 exam had sections of varied difficulties. The Quant section was moderate to very difficult, somewhat like CAT 2017-2019. VA-LR was the easiest section, having questions which were not tough. DI was a mix of both easy and very tough sets. This called for proper selection and strategies. GK & EQ was a general easy affair, with standard GK questions and situation-based EQs. The entire exam demanded an approach which had balance and required time management strategy.
