IISER Aptitude Test Notification 2026: Registration

IAT 2026 registration has begun. You can apply for IISER Aptitude Test 2026 exclusively through the official online portal at www.iiseradmission.in. The portal provides detailed step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process. IAT 2026 application fee must be paid online during the submission of the application form. The fee structure for IAT 2026 exam is as follows:

IISER Aptitude Test 2026 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

To apply for IAT 2026, you must meet the following eligibility requirements, as prescribed in IISER aptitude test notification 2026:

• Applicants must be Indian nationals, OCI/PIO cardholders, or Foreign Nationals.
• Candidates must have completed their Class XII or equivalent examination from a board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE).
• Foreign Nationals who have completed their Class XII or equivalent outside India must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities. If the examination was completed through a COBSE-recognized board, no equivalence certificate is needed.
• Applicants must have studied at least three of the following subjects in Class XII (or equivalent): Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics.
• SC/ST/PwD candidates must have a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
• Applicants from all other categories must secure at least 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

Important: IISER has recently updated its eligibility criteria regarding the age limit. As per the latest change, candidates must have been born on or after October 1, 2000. However, SC, ST, and PwD candidates now receive a five-year age relaxation, making them eligible if born on or after October 1, 1995. IISER Aptitude Test Notification 2026: Exam Pattern

The total marks obtained out of 240 will determine your position on the Rank List. However, not all applicants who take the IAT 2025 will receive a rank. The rank cut-off will be announced later. Additionally, securing a rank does not guarantee an offer of admission to IISER.

IISER Aptitude Test 2026 Notification: Counselling

During IISER Aptitude Test 2026 counselling process, you will be shown programs from 7 IISERs while filling out their online application. You must create a preference list, ranking these programs from most preferred (first) to least preferred (last). This list must contain at least one IISER program. A student will only be considered for the IISER programs listed in their preference list, and programs not listed will not be considered for admission.

The entire counselling process will be conducted online, and there is no need to visit any IISER in person. You can check for admission offers by logging into your IAT 2026 application portal.
