Dewesh Nandan Prasad, Content Team

Dear Student,

You have secured Computer Science at PCCOE Ravet in the MHT CET CAP round 1 and are considering moving to PCCOE Akurdi or choosing I2IT for CS. PCCOE Akurdi is generally the preferred option due to its higher cutoffs, stronger placement record, better faculty, and overall reputation compared to both PCCOE Ravet and I2IT. While I2IT offers an industry-focused curriculum and notable company tie-ups, it is a newer and smaller institute with a less established campus environment. Therefore, if you have the opportunity to shift to PCCOE Akurdi, it is advisable to do so, as it offers better …

Dewesh Nandan Prasad, Content Team

Dear Student,

With an MHT CET percentile of 61.68 in the SC category, it is highly unlikely that you will gain admission to Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, as the closing percentiles for SC candidates in core branches like Computer Science and IT are significantly higher, often above the 85 to 95 percentiles. Even for other engineering branches with relatively lower cutoffs, your percentile is below the usual admission threshold. Therefore, you should explore other private or regional colleges with lower cutoff requirements or use college prediction tools to find suitable options matching your category and score. Dear Student,

With an MHT CET 2025 percentile of 84.62, you have good chances of securing a seat in Information Technology (IT) at several private and mid-tier engineering colleges in Maharashtra, although admission to top government and highly competitive institutes like COEP Pune or VJTI Mumbai is unlikely. Colleges such as MIT-WPU Pune, PCCOE Pune, Sinhgad Institutes, Ajeenkya DY Patil, and D.Y. Patil Institute of Technology often admit students with percentiles around 80–90 for IT. To maximise admission chances, include a mix of these colleges and a few aspirational choices in your options, consider related branches like Computer Engineering or …

Dear Student,

With a 68.8 percentile in JEE Main and MHT CET, admission to top government engineering colleges in Maharashtra like COEP Pune, VJTI Mumbai, or Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is unlikely, as their closing percentiles are usually above 95–99. However, at this percentile (68.8), which translates to an MHT CET rank roughly between 41,000 and 47,000, you can target several decent state-level or private engineering colleges. Typically, branches available may be in core streams such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or emerging colleges’ IT/CS seats in later CAP rounds. Some examples of colleges you might get with this percentile …

Dear Student,

Choosing between a new IIIT and established top state colleges like VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute) and COEP (College of Engineering Pune) largely depends on branch preference, placement prospects, reputation, and personal goals. VJTI and COEP, both long-established and highly reputed institutions in Maharashtra, generally offer stronger placement records, particularly for branches like Computer Science and IT, with average packages around INR 7-8 lakh and excellent recruiter networks. COEP recently gained university status and has a vibrant campus life, while VJTI benefits from its prime Mumbai location and academic autonomy. New IIITs, such as IIIT Pune, while offering …

Dear Student,

If you scored 32% in MHT CET, securing a seat in ECE (Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering) may be difficult, as the cutoff for decent colleges usually starts around 40% or higher. However, you might have a chance for Mechanical Engineering in private or lower-tier colleges, especially in less competitive regions or through management quota (though fees will be higher). Government and top autonomous colleges are unlikely with this score. To improve your options, consider applying in all CAP rounds, exploring private institutes, or even retaking the exam next year. However, you can target the tier 2 or 3 college, which can possibly provide admission to less competitive engineering branches like Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering. Some of the tier 2 or 3 colleges that you can prefer are RAIT (Nerul), Terna Engineering College (Nerul), Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of …
