Amrita Ranks Among India’s Top 10 Universities and Top 10 Medical Colleges in NIRF 2025 - Amrita has once again been highly recognised for its academic excellence, compassion-driven research, and global collaborations. It cemented its position among India’s Top 10 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, announced by the Ministry of Education. Amrita has been ranked 8th among all universities and 9th among medical colleges, placing it in India’s Top 10 in both categories. With this, it has achieved the rare distinction of featuring in the Top 10 Universities list for the eighth year in a row, first appearing in 2017. Founded in 2003, Amrita also remains the youngest institution among India’s leading universities, with a vibrant presence across 10 campuses in different parts of the country. One of the key factors contributing to this year’s strong ranking was Amrita’s extensive global collaborations. The University has forged academic and research partnerships with over 200 leading institutions worldwide, including Harvard University, Columbia University, King’s College London, and the University of Tokyo. These alliances have enabled cutting-edge research, student exchange programs, and a dynamic culture of innovation that strengthens Amrita’s role as a globally connected institution. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and University of Bath Forge Strategic Academic Partnership - Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has entered into a partnership with the University of Bath, UK, to advance joint research, academic exchange, and higher learning opportunities in biotechnology. As part of the agreement, students from Amrita will first complete a master’s programme in India, followed by progression to the University of Bath’s Faculty of Science to pursue a master’s in biotechnology. The collaboration is designed to combine the academic strengths of both institutions, offering students access to world-class teaching, state-of-the-art research facilities, and diverse international learning environments. The first cohort of Amrita students will join the University of Bath in the 2025–26 academic year, marking the start of what both institutions envision as a long-term and mutually enriching partnership.
