WB NEET UG Counselling 2025 Postponed till Further Orders:
The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has put NEET UG 2025 counselling and admission process on hold indefinitely, sparking uncertainty among thousands of medical aspirants in the state. This sudden decision comes as a surprise, especially since the counselling process had resumed after the Calcutta High Court allowed it to proceed with certain conditions, including the publication of a fresh merit list.

According to the latest update, the WBMCC had released a revised provisional state merit list for the 85% state quota seats on August 16, which included 11,178 candidates. The seat allotment result was scheduled to be declared on August 20, but the announcement has been put on hold till further notice. The committee hasn't provided any specific reason for this postponement, leaving students and parents worried about their academic future.
Union Minister of State for Education, Sukanta Majumdar, has criticized the state government's decision, questioning the sudden halt without a valid reason. He expressed concerns that this move might be an attempt to favour a particular group under the guise of reservation, thereby casting doubt on the future of medical students.
The admission process for WB NEET UG 2025 was stopped because of some legal issues, but now the court has allowed it to continue. However, the WBMCC has again stopped the process without giving a clear reason, leaving students uncertain about their future. They are waiting for updates from the authorities, but there's no clear timeline for when the process will start again.
