This slide-up facility allows students who have already taken admission into a particular college and stream to opt for higher preference institutions or courses, as indicated during their initial choice filling. The slide-up option is applicable only to those students who have confirmed their admission under the First Merit List published earlier.
To participate, students must visit the official SAMS portal at samsodisha.gov.in and log in using their student credentials. The deadline to opt for slide-up facility is already specified by the admission authority, i.e., July 15 (up to 6 PM).

To submit a slide-up request, candidates should follow these steps:
- Step 1: Visit the official SAMS Odisha website at hss.samsodisha.gov.in.
- Step 2: Navigate to the Higher Secondary School (+2) Admission portal.
- Step 3: Log in using the registered mobile number, barcode number, and captcha code.
- Step 4: Access the “Slide-up Request” option in the student dashboard.
- Step 5: Submit the request after verifying the preferences listed in the CAF.

- Students must note that once a slide-up request is submitted, it cannot be revoked.
- Candidates who fail to secure a higher-preference seat will retain their current allotment.
- Once the slide-up option is exercised, students must keep an eye on the upcoming Second Selection List, which will reflect their upgraded allotment
- If a student is allotted a new seat in the second round through the slide-up, they are required to take fresh admission in the new college and withdraw from the previously allotted institution.
