JoSAA 2025 Counselling Ends: Who is eligible for CSAB Special Round Counselling?

JoSAA 2025 Counselling: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will conduct the CSAB Special Round counselling for the vacant seats at various NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Eligible candidates who have not been placed or have been placed not as per their preferences should register to participate in the special round counselling process. With the completion of JoSAA 2025 Counselling, the special round CSAB counselling 2025 will begin. Before the registration process begins, candidates should check their eligibility and accordingly prepare for the counselling process. CSAB Special Round Counselling 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The detailed eligibility criteria as listed on the CSAB brochure 2025 are provided here. If candidates fall in any of the categories, they shall be eligible to register and participate in CSAB Special Round Counselling 2025:

• Type 1: All candidates who did not participate in JoSAA 2025 Counselling but meet the minimum required eligibility criteria for the counselling process shall be deemed eligible.
• Type 2: Registered candidates who did not secure a seat through JoSAA 2025 counselling rounds will be eligible.
• Type 3: Allotted candidates who have registered and were allotted seats in any of the JoSAA rounds but failed to secure the seats due to non-payment of the seat acceptance fee will be eligible to participate in CSAB Special Round Counselling 2025.
• Type 4: Candidates who opt to exit the JoSAA 2025 counselling will be regarded as eligible for the special round counselling.
• Type 5: Withdrawn candidates or candidates who have faced issues during the document verification process will also be eligible for the counselling process.
• Type 6: Participation is open to candidates who have previously been admitted by paying the necessary fees and who have reserved seats in the NIT+ system through JoSAA 2025.
• Type 7: Eligible candidates are those who opted out of the NIT system's allocated seats.
• Type 8: Candidates may still participate even if their seats were cancelled during document verification without being reassigned.
• Type 9: Candidates are eligible if they paid the seat acceptance cost and verified their documents, but their seats were cancelled because they did not pay the full entrance fee.
