Stage 1: Shortlisting for WAT-PI
The first stage of the admission process involves shortlisting candidates for the Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). To be eligible, candidates must meet the minimum sectional and total cutoff percentiles in CAT 2025, which vary by category.
Eligibility Criteria:
- General Category: Minimum 90 percentile in CAT 2025.
- Reserved Categories: Minimum percentiles vary for EWS, NCOBC, SC, ST, and PwD categories.
In addition to CAT scores, the institute considers previous academic performance and work experience in calculating composite scores. For the MBASM program, a minimum of 24 months of work experience is required.
Calculation of Composite Score
The composite score is calculated based on the following factors:
- Scaled CAT Score: 60% weightage.
- HSC Marks (12th): 10% weightage.
- Graduation Marks: 10% weightage, normalized based on academic discipline.
- Work Experience: 10% weightage for MBA and MBASM programs.
- Diversity Factors: 520% weightage for academic discipline and gender.
Stage 1: Scheduling for WAT-PI
Candidates who qualify in Stage 1a will have access to their composite scores on the official website. They must submit the WAT-PI form online by the stipulated deadline to participate in the WAT-PI process.
Stage 2: Final Selection Criteria
The final selection of candidates is based on their performance in the WATPI stage and their overall profile. The weights assigned to various components are:
- CAT Score: 30% weightage.
- Academic Performance: 10% weightage (5% for 12th marks and 5% for graduation marks).
- Diversity Factor: 5% weightage.
- Work Experience: 5% weightage (not applicable for MBAABM).
- WAT: 10% weightage.
- PI: 40% weightage.
To be considered for the final merit list, candidates must score at least 12 out of 40 marks in PI.
