GATE 2026 Registration (Begins) : The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has commenced the registration process for GATE 2026, starting today, August 28. Candidates can access the registration form on the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in through the admission portal. For convenience, the direct link to the same has been provided below. Before registering, candidates should check the eligibility criteria and have the required documents ready for upload. The registration process involves filling out personal and educational details, uploading documents for verification, and paying the registration fee. After submission, the conducting authority will review applications for eligibility, and only those meeting the requirements will be shortlisted for further steps.

Instructions Related to GATE Registration 2026

Candidates can check out the crucial instructions related to GATE Registration 2026:

Instruction 1 : The registration form has only been made accessible under the Application Portal tab.

Instruction 2 : Candidates will be required to enter their name, date of birth, personal mobile number, name and mobile number of their parents, address, eligibility degree details, institute/college name and address, choice of GATE paper, choice of GATE examination cities, and bank details for fee payment under personal details.

Instruction 3 : Candidates will be required to upload documents such as their photograph, signature, a scan copy of their ID, a scan copy of their degree certificate, a scan copy of their PWD certificate if applicable, a scan copy of their dyslexic certificate if applicable, and relevant annexures.

Instruction 4 : Candidates have to pay the registration fee, which is mandatory for submission. The registration fee is ₹1,000 for regular period for female, SC, ST, PWD candidates per paper and ₹2,000 for regular period for all other candidates, including foreign nationals, per test paper. During the extended period, the fee is ₹1,500 for female, SC, ST, PWD candidates per test paper and ₹2,500 for all other candidates, including foreign nationals, per test paper.

Instruction 5 : After completing the registration, candidates should download and print the registration e-form for future reference. Additionally, they should also download the e-receipt for registration fee payment, if required later.
