IIT Guwahati has released the official notification along with the official dates of the GATE events today on the official website. As per the schedule, the GATE online registration will start on August 25, 2025.
GATE 2026 Application Form Date ReleasedGATE 2026 Application Form Date Released: IIT Guwahati has released the official notification regarding the GATE 2026 application form, which will commence on August 25, 2025. Candidates who are willing to participate in the GATE 2026 exam, should visit the official website- gate2026.iitg.ac.in and complete the online registration on or before September 25, 2026 . Post that, the candidates can also fill out the GATE application form till October 6, 2025, with a late fee. As per the schedule, the GATE 2026 exam will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 , in online mode for a total of 30 papers. During the application process, the candidates should appear for one or up to two test papers only.

GATE 2026 Application Form: Eligibility Criteria
Before filling out the GATE application form 2026, the candidates should refer to the eligibility criteria. The applicants should meet the GATE eligibility criteria, which are available on the official website.
- Candidates who are currently in the 3rd year or higher years of any of the undergraduate programs, or have completed any government-approved degree programs in Engineering/ Science/ Technology/ Architecture/ Arts/ Commerce/ Humanities, are eligible to participate in the GATE 2026 exam
- Candidates who have completed a graduation in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc/ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) can fill out the GATE application form
