Overall: I chose this course due to my interest in coding, technology, and career opportunities in the IT field. The best part is the practical learning, diverse career paths, and good placement support. The course could improve by updating the curriculum more frequently and adding more industry exposure. The campus hosts tech fests, cultural events, and active student clubs throughout the year. The crowd is diverse and friendly, and the campus is well-connected. Scholarships are available, and extracurricular activities like sports, coding clubs, and cultural events are encouraged.
Placement: While placements in core science fields like Mathematics are generally limited across most colleges, LPU still makes a solid effort to provide opportunities. We were given access to placement training sessions from the second year onwards, including aptitude prep, resume building, interview practice, and soft skills training. For B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics students, companies offering roles in data analysis, teaching, ed-tech, and even some analytics-based positions did come for placements. A few of my batchmates also got internships that converted into full-time roles. Though the highest packages are usually bagged by tech students, the support we received from the Career Services team was genuinely helpful. What’s great is that LPU doesn’t leave you on your own—they guide you continuously and encourage higher studies too. Many students from my batch are now preparing for IIT JAM or going for M.Sc. and government jobs with full support from faculty and resources.
Infrastructure: LPU's infrastructure honestly exceeded my expectations. The campus is massive, beautifully maintained, and filled with modern amenities. As a B.Sc. Mathematics student, I spent a lot of time in the academic blocks and library, both of which were well-equipped and conducive to focused learning. Every block is centrally air-conditioned, and the classrooms are smart classrooms with projectors and Wi-Fi access. The library deserves a special mention—it’s one of the largest in India and has both digital and physical resources that really supported our studies. Labs (including those for sciences and computing) are up-to-date and student-friendly, even though we didn’t use them as much in math. The campus also has dedicated spaces for relaxation like gardens, food courts, and hangout zones. LPU is honestly like a mini city, and its infrastructure plays a huge part in creating a professional yet lively environment for students.
Faculty: The faculty at LPU played a huge role in making my academic journey smooth and enriching. Most of our professors in the B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics department were highly qualified, with many having PhDs and research backgrounds. But what stood out more than just their qualifications was how approachable and supportive they were. They didn’t just teach us to score marks—they genuinely encouraged us to think critically, ask questions, and go beyond the syllabus. If we ever had doubts, we could easily reach out during or after class, and many of them even supported us with competitive exam guidance like JAM, GATE, etc. The teaching methods involved a good mix of theory, practical application, and sometimes even live projects or guest lectures. I always felt like the faculty wanted us to succeed—not just academically, but also personally and professionally.
Hostel: Staying in the LPU hostel was honestly one of the best parts of my college life. The rooms were spacious enough and well-maintained, and there were multiple options depending on budget—sharing, apartment-style, AC/non-AC, etc. I stayed in a 3-seater non-AC room, and it was quite comfortable. The hostel buildings have Wi-Fi, 24/7 security, biometric attendance, and regular cleaning services which made the environment very safe and hygienic. The mess food was decent and much better than what I expected before joining. There was variety and proper hygiene, and we even had a multi-cuisine food court and mini grocery stores on campus. What I appreciated most was the sense of independence yet security. There were common rooms, laundry services, and regular maintenance support, making daily life smooth. Overall, LPU’s hostel life is a great mix of comfort, discipline, and a student-friendly atmosphere.
