Tamil Nadu NEET SS Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria required by aspiring in-service candidates to apply for the Tamil Nadu SS admission process 2025. ​​

Students aspiring to apply for the Tamil Nadu NEET SS Admission Process must be citizens of India

Education

Applicants must have completed  a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB/equivalent degree) from a recognized medical institution in the country

Registration

Students need to be registered with the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council to be eligible for NEET SS

Tamil Nadu NEET SS 2025 Admission: Additional Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who are in-service doctors only can apply. They must also be regularised if they wish to apply for the Tamil Nadu SS admission. Moreover, only those in-service candidates who have entered government service through the TNPSC/MRB are eligible. They must also have provided 2 years of services in order to be eligible to apply.

  • All the applicants of Tamil Nadu NEET SS 2025 Admission must clear the NEET SS Exam 2025. All the NEET SS 2025 eligibility criteria are valid for Tamil Nadu NEET SS admission as well.

  • Students who are currently enrolled in any Super Speciality (SS) course or have already completed any Super Speciality Course will not be able to apply for Tamil Nadu NEET SS 2025 Admission.

  • Candidates who are not in service in the medical sector will not be eligible to apply for Tamil Nadu NEET SS Admission 2025. These include candidates who work in institutions that fall under the “Registered Societies Act” and “Self-Financed Institution”.

Tamil Nadu NEET SS Admission 2025: Steps to Fill the Application Form

Here are the stepwise instructions you need to follow to successfully fill up and submit the Tamil Nadu NEET SS Application Form.

1. Go to the official website - tnhealth.tn.gov.in or tnmedicalselection.org to fill the application form for Tamil Nadu NEET SS.

2. Fill in all the information as requested. It is similar to the NEET SS 2025 registration . These include full name, parents’ name, permanent address, correspondence address, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender and so on.

3. Make sure to fill in all the details correctly because in the off chance that there is a mistake, the entire application can get rejected.

4. Without any edit window, incomplete or incorrect applications will all be rejected summarily.

5. More than one application form must not be submitted by the candidate because this will result in the disqualification of both application forms submitted.

6. Service candidates will have to submit printouts of their submitted online applications along with their service particulars (duly signed and forwarded by the necessary authority along with date and seal). The necessary enclosures must also be attached to the same.

7. The filled up online application printout along with the required enclosure must be sent to the following address: The Secretary, Selection Committee,162, Periyar E.V.R. High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai - 600 010.

8. The filled-out online application printout, along with the required enclosure, must be sent in a cloth-lined cover of A4 size. The template with all the pertinent details must be printed and pasted on the cover.

9. AR number of the Application Registration Number will be provided by Selection Committee if the submissions are correct and in order.

10. Self-attested photocopies of the following documents must be provided by the candidates for perusal by the Selection Committee -

  • NEET SS 2025 Score Card.
  • NEET SS 2025 Admit Card.
  • MBBS Degree Certificate and Postgraduate Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree Certificate (as applicable).
  • Permanent or provisional degree certificate as issued by the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council.
  • TNPSC/MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection and Posting Order.
  • Recent regional medical board certificate for PwD candidates.
  • Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University - for those candidates who completed their Broad Speciality PG degree in other universities.
  • The same photograph uploaded by the candidate in the NEET SS application form must be uploaded in the filled in online application here as well.
  • Postcard size colour photograph (dimension: 4” x 6”) of size 50 KB to 300 KB will be needed.
  • Candidates also need to provide identity proof - Aadhar Card/Voter ID/PAN Card.

Tamil Nadu NEET SS Admission 2025: Rank List

The rank list for Tamil Nadu NEET SS admission is available online in PDF format. Here are the steps on how to check it.

  • Visit the official website - tnhealth.tn.gov.in or tnmedicalselection.org

  • Click on the Rank List PDF which will be published by the Selection Committee as soon as all the due scrutiny has been conducted based on the applications received in the academic year 2025.

  • Remember that the rank list will be made on the basis of the scores received in the NEET SS exam.

After the publication of the rank list by the Selection Committee, the Counselling procedure for the Tamil Nadu NEET SS will begin.

Tamil Nadu NEET SS 2025 Counselling Procedure

The counselling process for Tamil Nadu NEET SS takes place only offline. The following are some of the important details to remember when it comes to the counselling procedure being successfully conducted:

  • The admission to the Super Speciality program is based on merit only, and no communal reservation is allowed under any circumstances.

  • Candidates who do not join the course provided or discontinue within a given amount of time can appear for the second and more rounds of counselling available.

  • Candidates selected for admission will need to provide a declaration that their admission can be forfeited if any information is found to be wrong later. If any such misdeed is detected, the candidate will also not be allowed to appear for the NEET SS exam for the next 2 years.

  • Candidates who choose to participate in the Counselling rounds for Tamil Nadu NEET SS admission will need to pay a non-refundable amount of INR 1000 only as a processing fee. This will have to be paid via a demand draft in favour of the Secretary, Selection Committee, Chennai - 10.

  • The tuition fee will have to be paid if the candidate is happy with the seat allotment and proceeds to join the course. This fee is non-refundable and will not be reimbursed even if the candidate decides to discontinue the course. The discontinuation fee is a total of INR 20 lakhs. Until that is paid, the original certificates submitted by the candidate will remain confiscated by the authorities.

  • The fees for the Super Speciality course per annum are INR 30,000.

  • The following documents are to be provided during the offline counselling round. These include -

  1. NEET SS 2025 Score Card

  2. NEET SS 2025 Admit Card

  3. MBBS Degree Certificate and Postgraduate Degree Certificate or Provisional Degree Certificate (as applicable)

  4. Permanent or provisional degree certificate as issued by the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council

  5. TNPSC/MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection and Posting Order

  6. Recent regional medical board certificate for PwD candidates

  7. Eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University - for those candidates who completed their Broad Speciality PG degree in other universities

  8. The same photograph uploaded by the candidate in the NEET SS application form must be uploaded in the filled in online application here as well

  9. Postcard-size colour photograph (dimension: 4” x 6”) of size 50 KB to 300 KB will be needed
