NIRF Rankings 2025 will be released on September 4, 2025, by the Ministry of Education on the official portal, nirfindia.org, having the list of top-performing colleges alongside subject-specific institutions in India.

What is the New NIRF Negative Marking Criteria?

The Ministry of Education will release the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 ranking for the top-performing universities and the domain-specific colleges on its official portal on September 4, 2025. Under this framework, all universities and colleges are ranked under 16 categories like overall, college, university, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors, open university, skill university and state public university. The parameters for the NIRF 2025 ranking of institutes are mainly “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.

What is the New NIRF Negative Marking Criteria?

It is expected that for the NIRF Rankings 2025, there will be negative scores for institutes that have been retracted from journals in the last three calendar years and their corresponding citations. Anil Sahashrabudhe, Chairperson of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) said, “This year, we will award some negative weightage for retracted papers and their citations. Next year, the penalty will be harsher.” As mentioned by the chairperson, the reason behind the negative scores is “The number of retractions was small a few years ago, but the numbers have increased in the past couple of years. So we are taking this seriously.” Moreover, citing another reason behind this step is to make a statement “that research should be conducted ethically.”

Hi there, there are two ways to apply for correction in application form of test . First is , you can raise query from dashboard and second is, you need to mail you issue to the concerned team along with that mention your application number . Later, it will be resolved by concerned team . Thank you.

Dear student, with AIR 5669 and EWS 582, you may have a good chance of getting into OUAT, but it will depend on this year's cutoff ranks. Check the OUAT brochure for last year cutoff to get an idea of what are the cutoff ranks.
